About Hanover Supply Co.
Hanover Supply Co. was founded by Max
Weinstock in 1923. Originally called
Weinstock Supply, the first location was on
Bedford Street, in Newark, NJ, with
additional warehouse space in an old
icehouse on Hayes Street.
In 1957, Max's son Herman joined the family
business. His strong sales skills were
instrumental to the opening of the first
showroom in Newark. In 1967, Max and
Herman bought the current East Hanover
location, opening a "Mom-and-Pop" supply
house in a portion of the 30,000 square foot
building. In the early days, Herman manned
the operation on his own, often leaving a "Be
Right Back" sign on the door while making
or accepting deliveries himself.
As business grew, locations were added
and expanded. In the 1970s, the
Weinstocks launched one of the first
full-service showrooms in East Hanover,
featuring vignettes with built-in displays of
cabinetry, fixtures, faucets and accessories.

Herman's sons, Jeffrey and Mitchell, and daughter Mindy, joined the family business, and brought a shift in the focus of the business to
computerized processing and new locations. Now a third-generation family-owned and operated business, Hanover Supply Co. has
three locations and a state-of-the-art 3,700 square foot showroom, 25 employees, 11 delivery trucks, and a combined total of 60,000
square feet of warehouse space. Our mission is to run our business efficiently so we can provide the best possible service,
establishing and maintaining solid, lasting business relationships with our suppliers and our customers.
